Under the Work Injury Compensation Act, you must report work-related accidents using WSH Incident Reporting (at www.mom.gov.sg/iReport) within 10 days from:
– The accident date if your employee dies or is hospitalised for at least 24 hours from a work-related accident or medical condition (e.g. contracts a disease from exposure to biological/chemical agents, stroke or heart attack due to work).
– Receiving the doctor’s medical memo or report if your employee contracts an occupational disease (e.g. noise-induced deafness, occupational skin disease, occupational asthma or heat disorder).
– The 4th day of medical leave if your employee is given medical leave for at least 4 days for a work-related accident or medical condition.
Employers who do not report on time may be jailed and fined up to $10,000. To help you be promptly alerted of work-related accidents, you are encouraged to develop an internal reporting system.
